Submission Process & Price Schedule
When you decide to bring in an item to be graded, there are a few steps to go through prior to your book actually being shipped out. We pre-grade each comic to determine where it falls in the pricing schedule below. The more valuable the comic, the more care must be taken to preserve it.

What to Expect
From the time your book is brought to us you can expect nothing short of a professional and easy to understand process. Our goal is to keep you informed every step of the way.
Your book will be pre-graded in house to determine its estimated value.
You will be given a quote to send your book in for grading. These are firm prices and are not negotiable. This price is due in full prior to the ship out of your book.
All books will be bagged and boarded, if not already so, and logged.
You will be given a Receipt of Acceptance stating the title, issue number, pre-grade number and the payment made.
From the moment you turn your book over to us, it is covered under our insurance in the store and through shipping to CGC. Upon arrival at CGC, they take responsibility for the book until it is returned to us.
You will be notified every step your book makes through the grading process. We will keep you informed about when your book ships, when it arrives and where it is in the grading process.
Upon picking up your book from us, you will sign the Receipt of Acceptance form again stating that you received your book and Secret Identity is no longer responsible for it.
SHIPPING
We want you to feel secure about the shipping of your item so we only use UPS to ship. It will be insured for the standard $500 to keep down costs. If you want your book insured for the anything above $500 on the way to CGC, we are happy to do that but we will pass that cost along to you.
We are also happy to ship your items back to you once they return from CGC if you are not able to pick them up. We can either include that into the original invoice or invoice you separately once the item returns.
CONSIGNMENT
Should you wish to sell your graded items through our store, you set the price and we will negotiate prices with potential buyers for you. You will be called with the final offer before the item is sold.
Your item will be put up on our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as our website, eBay store and Facebook Marketplace. It will also be displayed in the store.
Secret Identity Comics takes a 25% commission on all items consigned with us. Shipping charges will be billed to the buyer.
PAYMENT
All invoicing and payment transactions are done through PayPal. We do not accept personal checks but will take bank/cashier’s checks and money orders but your items will not be shipped to CGC until payment is received.
For consigned items, payments will be sent to you via PayPal. If you request a cashier’s check, the cost of the check, usually $6.00, will be deducted from the sales price. We do not pay out consignment items in cash.
Grading and Preserving
Keeping your favorite comics in their best condition is a priority for any collector. Here at Secret Identity Comics, we have partnered with CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) to do just that.
We provide a service that will insure, ship, track and, if you wish, sell the items in your collection that you deem valuable. We keep you informed every step of the way so that you know where your items are and at what stage in the grading process they are entering.
